Nunee Health Board Society is located in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. Fort Chipewyan, Alberta is part of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and is located 280 km north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Nunee Health Board Society is a community partnership in health and healing, the partners are the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation, the Mikisew Cree First Nation and the Metis Local 124.
Nunee’s mandate is to represent the health and health related needs of the residents of Fort Chipewyan to all levels of Government, ensuring that all citizens are provided with an equal opportunity to access and maintain the same type, level, and quality of health care related services as those available to all Albertans and Canadians.
Nunee Health has developed a range of health services to serve the needs of our people. Those services presently include the following programs: Treatment (Community Nursing), Family Physicians & Specialists (Physio/Massage Therapy), Public Health Program, Maternal Child Health Program, COHI (Childrens Oral Health Initiative), Dental Health, Home Care & Chronic Care Program, Health Promotion, Medical Transportation, Mental Health & Wellness, Mental Health Therapists and Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program (IRS).
